Using Emotional Intelligence (EI) in a team leader or first-line manager environment

Stage One: An introduction to EI using the EQ-i report and a 1:1 contextual feedback session with a qualified coach. This approach allows each and every individual to gain an understanding of their own personal results, and how this affects their daily functioning – professionally, socially and emotionally.
This first stage will cover the following:
- Supply of prereading information
- Carry out online inventory
- Preparation of feedback for validation.
- Report to include an outline for the session
- Introduction to the fundamental principles of EI
- Individual Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-i) report overview carried out by a qualified and accredited coach
- Contextual feedback relating to personal and professional current functioning
- Agree a model for step changes, enabling each individual to understand how they can make change for the future, and set an individual ongoing training strategy with specific measurable goals
This first stage will enable individuals to:
- Marshal their emotional impulses
- Enhance self-awareness; recognise individual feelings, and think through how to express those feelings without devaluing others opinion
- Enhance empathy for the feelings of others, and gain insight into managing and understanding how others think
- Delay and control unhealthy impulses
- Enhance optimism and general positivity
- Understand the dynamics of their team, and how and where they fit inside that team
